About MelaQuest and Cysteamine
Cysteamine Complex reduces melanin production by inhibition of essential melanogenic enzymes, tyrosinase and peroxidase. Has a chelating effect on the copper ions needed in melanogenesis. Antioxidant properties.
*Cysteamine (also known as Mercaptamine) is a regulated ingredient in Australia.
Therapeutic Goods Standard regulations permit a maximum percentage of 1% in cosmetic preparations in the finished product.
Dermaquest products contain a Cysteamine complex. The Cysteamine Complex (also known as “NV CYSTEAMINE 15”) contains Aqua, Cysteamine HCI, Cyclodextrin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Algin, Calcium Citrate, Disodium EDTA.
Cysteamine Complex contains only 15% of Cysteamine HCl within product full composition.
For example: a product containing 4% of Cysteamine Complex = only 0.6% Cysteamine HCI. This is compliant with TGA regulations.
